Lima bean puree with cinnamon and raspberry chia jam

This is an ideal one meal a day meal for your baby from 6 months.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tin Lima beans, drained
  • 1 small pear, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Hemp or chia seeds for garnish
  • 1 cup frozen or fresh raspberries
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp water

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 Food processor or blender

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan over a medium heat add the Lima beans and pear. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in another small saucepan over low heat, add the raspberries, chia seeds and water.
  3. Let simmer over low heat for 5 minutes until the berries are soft and the mixture resembles jam.
  4. Remove the Lima bean mixture from heat and pour into a blender or food processor. Add the oil or butter and cinnamon then blend until smooth.
  5. Spoon the Lima bean mixture into your baby's bowl and place a dollop of the chia jam on top. Enjoy!

Notes

Age appropriate: From 6 months or when your baby starts solids. This recipe does not contain any allergen foods if you opt for using olive oil instead of butter.
